Katrina Pechal Ceramics
I have always had a passion for working with clay and I love to share my knowledge with my students at The Forest Row School of Ceramics. The pots I make are thrown with highly tactile finishes, reminiscent of crustacean covered shell surfaces, giving them the appearance of having been found on a beach, washed up by the tides of the sea. I am an avid beachcomber and I adore the way nature changes things, often rendering objects unrecognisable or habitations for a multitude of plant life and fungi. This transformative process creates a story; a richness brought about by time and age. This resonates with my own life and the life of others. I like to bring the essence of this to the evocation of my pots.
